The biggest barrier in clinical trials isn’t science — it’s operations
Most innovation in clinical trials focuses on science. But one of the biggest barriers is still operational — and often invisible.
Patients are willing to participate. Sponsors are investing. Teams are committed. And yet — trials still struggle. Not because of the science. Because of the system around it. Travel. Costs. Reimbursements. Friction. Small barriers — with system-level consequences: drop-outs, delays, and inefficiencies.
This is why we’re building TrialCard. Not a feature — infrastructure. A financial layer to improve access, retention, and efficiency in clinical trials.
This work is being developed with Juan Pich of IESE Business School, together with a team combining clinical, technological and business expertise.
We’re now opening conversations with sponsors, CROs, early adopters, and investors who see this as a core opportunity in clinical research.
Thanks to SMED Clinical Research and Sonia Maciá for highlighting a challenge we see every day in the clinic.
